UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens
The 3-acre Susie Harwood Garden boasts year-round attraction - with an impressive diversity of hardy ornamental landscape plants, meandering paths, a pond with waterfalls, an Asian Garden, and naturalistic rock-work throughout. The Harwood Garden contains lovely views, colorful plantings, and inspiration for home landscapes through the seasons. The garden is named for Ralph Van Landingham’s mother. Neighboring Van Landingham Glenn contains walking trails, tree coverage, hammock stands, and a memorial for Bonnie Cone, the founder of the university.
