Belk Gym

The 13,000 square-foot Belk Gymnasium provides classroom space and recreational instructional areas for the College of Health and Human Services and Recreation Services Departments as well as other disciplines. The gym floor is in constant use with class instruction, recreational free play, club sport competition, and varsity athletic practice. The swimming pool, located on the basement level of Belk Gymnasium, is set up for six 25-yard lap swim lanes. In spring 2020, the Recreational Services Department transferred to the brand new University Recreation Center (UREC). Now, students enjoy 5 floors of fitness space in the new building. Belk Gym is still utilized for the kinesiology and exercise science programs, research, and some fitness activities.
